Explore your voice with Classical Indian Music

SING.HEAL.GROW presents an online workshop on voice for all vocal artists and indian classical music enthusiasts. I’m honored to invite my music guruji Supriyo Dutta, a maestro of Indian Classical Vocal Music, to share his knowledge with us. www.supriyodutta.com

What you can expect during this 3 hours workshop:

· Voice Training

· Pitch perfection

· Pranayam (useful breathing exercises for your voice)

· Introduction to Raga Music (the melodic structures of Indian music)

· Introduction to Taal (the rhythmic cycles)

· Introduction to compositions of Indian classical music

No prior experience in Indian music required. Relax and get inspired by this ancient tradition of music. You will get some personal feedback and singing exercises to keep practicing.

SUPRIYO DUTTA, considered as a young maestro of Hindustani Vocal Classical music. He has performed extensively in India as well as in the United States of America, Australia and Europe.

He was a National scholar under ministry of culture as a student, a recipient of Gold Medal from the Governor and has bagged many other awards till now. In recent under his direction “UstadAmir Khan-the path breaking modernist” has been awarded the Calcutta Cult Film festival award. He is also a featured artist of ICCR, Doordarshanand Radio. He has many CDs and digital releases to his credits including “Raga Reminiscence” from India, “Passionate voice” from Europe on Hindustani vocal classical and many collaborations with international artists. He has been associated with many lecture demonstrations and workshop sessions organised regularly by many private institutions and universities in abroad . Overall he is well recognized both as an effective performer and educator of Indian classical vocal music.
